State Competition, Mid-February 2000. Genese came up with this idea on the plane as we wung our way back from Wisconsin. Our friend Diane Horstmeyer has a band called ‘Steam Genie’... and there is a little startled boy who has just rubbed the magic lamp. That’s Diane’s son George.

Also, the Genie’s turban had an ice ‘jewel’ that glowed at twelve o’clock, which was judging time. This was an idea we stole from a guy named Klaus who we met in Wisconsin.

We came in First for People's Choice and Sculptor’s Choice, but came in second in the Judged Category.
